How to maximise the water you are feeding your grass
With uncertain weather patterns and water a costly comodadty we need to maximise the water you feed your grass. The most efficiant way to do this is by Aerating your grass and dethatching/scarifing your lawn.
Just by simply adding Aeration into your 6 monthly plan for your lawn you can help maintain the root system encouraging the roots to become longer and more established wich in turn gives you a healthy green looking lawn.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Like the name suggests aeration, allows your lawn to breath. Heavily trafficked areas, lawn care equipment and even play, gives enough downward pressure to cause a compacted layer of soil and thatch, blocking the pathway and exchange of CO2 and oxygen, effectively starving the root system of your grass.
Dethatching/scarifing or raking your lawn will assist with the long term strategy of your lawn and it is extremely beneficial for your grass. In the short term it might not look that good after you have dethatched your lawn but your grass will recover and combined with Aeration your root system on your lawn will be stronger and more established giving you the green grass that we are all trying to acheive.
